Domestic Renewable Energy Systems - Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire

A recent residential project undertaken for a client located in the remote town of Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire featured a comprehensive renewable energy solution, with a number of interlinked systems. This included a Vaillant AroTherm Plus Air Source Heat Pump, a Solar PV system with Energy Storage, an evacuated tube Solar Thermal water heating system, and a twin coil cylinder.

These systems were seamlessly integrated into the property and are capable of harnessing heat from both the heat pump and Solar Thermal systems to provide hot water on demand. This multi-faceted approach to a renewable project significantly reduced their carbon output and energy costs.

 

Easy Heat Systems integrated ten solar PV panels alongside a thirty evacuated tube solar thermal system on to the roof of an end terrace house required space. This required collaboration with a structural engineer and the replacement of a chimney stack to free the space required for both systems to be installed.

The project demanded intricate examination and precise estimations of the client’s consumption patterns. This analysis allowed Easy Heat Systems to design the heating, hot water, and electricity generating systems for optimal efficiency and performance.

As an occupied property, Easy Heat Systems faced the responsibility to work swiftly and seamlessly to execute the works while minimising any inconvenience for the client.

This Renewable Energy System comprised of several interlinked components:

  • Vaillant Air Source Heat Pump positioned externally for heating and hot water generation
  • Thirty evacuated tube Solar Thermal system for hot water generation
  • Twin coil hot water cylinder with a capacity of 250 litres, capable of receiving heat from both the heat pump and Solar Thermal systems
  •  4kW Solar PV system with 5.2 kWh of Energy Storage
  • A battery management system meticulously designed to support the battery storage, ensuring optimal efficiency and performance
